Roy Edwin Campbell, 70, of 216 Rhodes Road, Eden, passed away Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A formal visitation will be held on Monday, June 19, 2017 from 6 – 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence. 

Mr. Campbell was born in Rockingham County on July 12, 1946 to the late Jack Campbell and Mildred Pratt Campbell.  Roy was a graduate of John Motley Morehead High School.  He was self-employed as a grading contractor.  Mr. Campbell was of the Baptist Church and a member of Osborne Baptist Church.  He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Mr. Campbell is survived by his loving wife, of 41 years, Joyce Campbell of the home; children, Roy Edwin Campbell, Jr. (Vicky), Nancy Hall (Josh), Brian Campbell, Jamie Campbell all of Eden; grandchildren, Roy Campbell III, Jordan Campbell, Luke Campbell, Shane Campbell, Maddie Campbell and Beth Griffin (Kevin); siblings, Jackie Eggleston (Ronnie), Mike Campbell (Arlene),and Don Campbell(Millie Priddy) all of Eden; and special pet companion, Annie.

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Nancy.

Memorial contribution may be made to Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

What do you say at a time like this? I've never really had any words that would take the pain away from family and friends that loved Roy so much.
