Carl Eugene Booth, Sr., 81, passed away early Thursday morning, May 11, 2017, at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A funeral service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, May 14, at Immanuel Friends Church. Entombment will follow in the private family mausoleum at Danview Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

Carl was born May 11, 1936 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Willis McKinley Booth and Belah Barrow Booth. He was a member of Immanuel Friends Church. Carl enjoyed playing golf, fishing and hunting and loved working in his gardens. He was retired from American Tobacco Company.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Roach Booth of the home; son, Carl Booth, Jr. (Carolyn) of Eden; daughters, Julia Booth Berry of Atlanta, GA and Vicki Booth Webb of Mooresville; grandchildren, Britni Booth Gelinas, Drake Booth, Carla Jo Booth, Blair Booth, Amanda Berry, Christopher Stanley, Ryan Fanant and Willis Booth; brothers, Ronnie Booth (Shirley) of Eden and Garvin Booth (Julie) of Axton, VA; sisters, Evon Jones (Nathan), Dot Bush (Jim) and Dorraine Shropshire, all of Eden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Ken Booth.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375, however, flowers are welcome.
