Dona was a matriarch, daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother who loved and cherished her family. She honored her parents; Mary and “Dapper Dan” as she lovingly referred to her father. I knew some of you before we ever met. She was never too shy to talk about and share family stories. She was proud of you all, your accomplishments and your abilities to do whatever it is that you set out to do. Her three sons were her world! And then there were the grandchildren. She loved to show you off in the pictures that you all shared. You don’t ever have to wonder how much she loved you all because she told you whenever she was given the opportunity to do so. She cared for and was a champion for children. My own in the mix some years back. She sacrificed much and was determined to push forward through some of the most challenging times in her life. She was funny, sincere, wise and faithful. She loved God, music and dancing. We’ve lost a treasure! Hold onto what she taught you! Cherish the wonderful memories, the happy times, as these will help you through your loss . . . and there’s no denying that this will be a great loss. Hugs & Prayers to you all during the days, weeks and months ahead! Love Gail
