Douglas Jean Boyte, 77, of 333 Wimbish Road in Eden, passed away Tuesday evening, April 11, 2017, at his home.

The family will receive friends Thursday, April 13, 12 - 7 pm,  at the home.

Mr. Boyte was born November 17, 1939 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late Marvin Franklin Boyte and Grace Leonard Boyte.  He was a graduate of Morehead High School.  Doug was a  U.S. Navy veteran, serving his country for four years.  He was a member of Osborne Baptist Church and was a retiree of E. I. Dupont.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Holland Boyte of the home;  two sons, Franklin Dwayne Boyte (Sherri) of Eden and Michael Todd Boyte (Glenda) of Statesville;  three grandchildren, Richard Todd Boyte, Ryan Michael Boyte, Brently Dwayne Boyte (Meredith); three step-grandchildren, Vanessa Snow, Aiyana Snow, and Daphne Snow; one brother, Raeford Boyte (Glen); one sister, Margie Boyte Washburn; a special family, Ernie, Bobbi, Jada and Cole Prichard and Seth and Ashley Bennett;  and special friends, Jo and Eddie Shelton

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Boyte.

In lieu flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Osborne Baptist Church, c/o Faith Factor Fund, 326 E. Stadium Drive, Eden, NC  27288

Sandra and Family: I was saddened to hear of Doug''s passing. We all shared a lot of good times and laughs while at HHBC. I pray you'll find that peace that passes all understanding and take comfort that he's fully healed and there will be a day of reunion. God bless you all.
