Obera Tucker Grant, 91, of 911 Klyce Street in Eden, passed away Thursday morning, March 30, 2017, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 1 PM on Monday, April 3, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (12 Noon - 1 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
Mrs. Grant was born May 31, 1925 in Stokes County, NC, to the late William Washingon Tucker and Bessie Louis Tucker. She was a charter member of Hampton Heights Baptist Church and a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills, Rug Division.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Grant of the home; son, Tim E. Grant and wife Debbie of Eden; three grandchildren, Mandi Wheatley, Jason West and Aaron West; four great-grandchildren, Cody Hancock, Kaden Wheatley, Shayna Minter and Camryn West,; great-great-grandson, Ayden Hancock; and brother, Clay B. Tucker and wife, Violet of Eden.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Roy Grant; sisters, Lois Balch, Ruth Young, Daisy Gibson, Bernice Yates, Maryanna Ratliff, and Lucille T. Barker; and brothers, Carlis Tucker and William B. Tucker.
