Clyde Lester Evans, Sr., 79, passed away on Saturday March 25, 2017 at his home in Stoneville.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm, on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Evans was born on September 13, 1937 in the Price community of Rockingham County to the late Roy Evans and Lillian Lester Evans. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran and was an independent truck driver for 51 years before he retired in 2012. Clyde was known to be dependable and a hard worker.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Snow Evans of the home; one son, Clyde “Booger” Evans, Jr. of Stoneville; three brothers, Frank Evans (Gayle) , Johnny Evans , and Charlie Evans (Jody) all of Stoneville; two sisters, Geneva Priddy , and Nancy Coleman both of Stoneville; one grandson, Clyde L. Evans III (Hannah) and two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Georgia.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Clarence Evans and two special grandparents, Jack and Verda Lester.

The family will receive friends on Monday evening, from 6-8pm at Fair Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105) or to The Shepherd’s Chapel (P.O. Box 416, Gravette Ar, 72736)

I grew up in the Stateline area and knew Clyde and Duck when they were trucking and running the Sunoco station. Clyde was always a "people person" with a smile and bit of wit for everyone. May the good Lord grant peace and comfort to your entire Family at this trying time. Ricky
