Ms. Judy Carolyn Tilley McCanless of Eden, NC passed away at the age of 69 on Monday, March 13th, 2017 at Hospice House of Rockingham County.

Judy was born at Leaksville Hospital on September 29th, 1947 to the late Grady Lee Tilley and Sadie Dalton Tilley. She grew up in Madison NC and was the sixth of ten children. She was retired from the Randolph County School system where she worked at Randleman Middle School. While Judy may have been her given name, all those who loved her dubbed her as “JuJu”.

She is survived by her life-companion Allen Locklear of Eden; daughters: Vonda Higgs and husband Boyd of Eden, NC and Ronda Dion of Winston-Salem, NC; 4 grandchildren: Matthew Higgs, Chris Higgs, Stephanie Dion, and Steven Dion. 5 great-grandchildren; brothers: Bobby, Jimmy, Sonny, Donny, and Timmy Tilley; sisters: Janice Atkinson & Mary Watkins. She was preceded in death along with her parents by her sisters, Betty Cox and Patsy Smith.

A visitation will take place on Wednesday, March 15th, 2017 from 5:30-7pm at Fair Funeral Home located at 432 Boone Road in Eden. The funeral will follow at 7pm with Reverend Jimmy Tilley officiating. There will be a dessert reception after the funeral at The Morehead-Fair House. A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 16th, 2017 at the DanView Cemetery at 11am.
