Raymond George Schaffer, 91, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.  

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Schaffer was born in Northampton, Pennsylvania on November 10, 1925 to the late Paul Schaffer and Miriam Florey Schaffer. Raymond graduated from Pen Argyl High School.  He served his country proud in the United States Army.  While he served during WWII he received the Purple Heart.  

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Dorothy Pysher, Pauline Thompson, Marie Wessman and Betty Schaffer; his best friend, Lee Kern.

Mr. Schaffer is survived by his brother, Richard Schaffer; nieces and nephews, Donna Itterly, Barbara Wenton, Deborah Finken, Brian Thompson, Rebecca Catino and Stephen Thompson.
