Ray Eugene Ridgeway, age 66, of Eden, NC passed away on Sunday January 29, 2017 at Moses Cone Hospital.

A visitation will be held on Thursday February 2, 2017 from 6 -8 pm at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden, NC.  There will be no formal service as per Ray's wishes.

Ray was the son of the late Delmas and Jewell Nance Ridgeway born November 1, 1950 in High Point, NC. He was the owner and operator of Ray's Bait & Tackle in Eden. An avid fisherman he spent many hours enjoying Philpott Dam Lake.  Ray served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a graduate of Allen Jay High School.

Surviving are his wife, Billie F. Ridgeway; sister in law, Tracy Dix and husband Todd; niece, Hannah Dix and nephew Ryan Dix and special friend, Cece Glasgow.

I'm sorry for the loss of a good man. Ray was a good guy. He will be missed by many. Some of my best memories involved going to the shop and seeing Ray, and cutting up with him. They just don't make em like him anymore.

Very sorry to hear about Ray. I was able to get to know him over the past couple of years serving as his Big Rock Sports fishing sales rep.
