LaVina "Terry" Terrill Holmes, age 93 of 910 Ellett Ave. Eden,NC passed away on Saturday morning, December 31, 2016 at her home.

A graveside service will be held 4 pm Monday January 2, 2017 at Overlook Cemetery.

Mrs. Holmes was born December 2, 1923 in Canton, Ohio to the late William and Hattie Jones Terrill.  She retired from the Charlotte Credit Bureau.  She was hardworking when she was able, loved working in her yard and visiting the elderly.  Her family remembers her loving personality and humor.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by her husband, Jesse William Holmes; sons, Jesse "Butch" Holmes, Jr. and Thomas "Tommy "Holmes; sister, Nihla Yant. 

Surviving are daughter, Patty Ethridge of the home; daughter-in-law, Bette Holmes of Champaign, IL; grandchildren, Kim Barnes (Tony) and Joe Ethridge all of Eden, Matthew Paul Holmes of Charlotte, Ryan Holmes (Jana) and Scott Holmes (Stephanne) all of Champaign, IL;  step-grandchildren, Kathy Hall (Darrell) , Jenny Arledge (Mike), and Angie Knight (Jeff) all of Eden; great grandchildren,Sarah Barnes, Kaelyn Holmes, and Kamryn Holmes; special niece, Cindy Flores.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Jean and Kenneth Holt for all of their loving care they gave to Terry.
