Gene Carroll Anderson, 87, of 412 Bent Grass Lane in Eden, passed away Monday, December 26, 2016.  

 

A memorial service will be held at 5 PM on Friday, January 13, in Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend A. C. Brock officiating.  Interment will take place on Saturday, January 14, at 1 PM, Montlawn Memorial Park in Raleigh, NC.

 

Mr. Anderson was born in Rockingham County on July 3, 1929 to the late Samuel and Lillian Anderson.  He graduated college from Wake Forest University.  Gene was of the Methodist faith and a member of Leaksville United Methodist Church.  He was a member of Oasis Shrine Temple and was in the Marching Band.  Mr. Anderson was a 60 year Mason and a member of the Leaksville Masonic Lodge # 136.  He enjoyed playing golf in his spare time.  Gene lived life to the fullest but most of all he loved his family.

 

Mr. Anderson is survived by his sons, Scott Anderson and wife Brenda of Sorrento, FL and Joe Anderson and girlfriend, Tammy Pegram of Greensboro, NC.

 

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Honeycutt Anderson and his second wife, Julia Warren Anderson; and sister, Sarah Anderson.

 

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (4 - 5 PM) at Fair Funeral Home.  

 

Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Anderson’s memory to: Office of Development; Shriners Hospitals for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Dr.
