Doris Estelle Carter Southard, 83, formerly of 125 Kathy Drive, Eden passed away early Thursday morning, December 8, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Sunday, December 11, 2016 at Old Fashion Gospel Church with Reverend James Nester officiating.  Burial will be held at a later date in Old Fashion Gospel Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Southard was born on October 9, 1933 in Rockingham County to the late Edward and Jenny Carter. 

She is survived by her nephew, Reverend James Nester and wife, Patricia; great-nephew, Bruce Forbes and great-niece, Juanita Morris.
