Authar "Hubert" Bowman, 82, of 57 J. B. Dalton Road in Ridgeway, VA, passed away Monday morning, November 28, 2016, at Morehead Memorial Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, December 1, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mountain View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.

Mr. Bowman was born March 13, 1934 in Patrick County, VA, to the late Burnie Lee Bowman and Naomi Pack Bowman. He was a retiree of American Furniture Company and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Roberts Bowman, of the home; daughter, Wendy Sawyers and husband, Rodney of Ridgeway, VA; and sisters, Faye Flinchum of Martinsville, VA, Alene Mabe and Annie Mae Prillaman, both of Sandy Ridge, NC.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William "Bill" Lee Bowman.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
