Ora Knight Young, 95, of 230 Farrell Street, Eden, NC passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 Monday, October 24 at First Baptist Church of Draper with Pastor Mike Neal and Associate Pastor Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Dan View Cemetery in Draper.

Mrs. Young was born April 3, 1921 in Spray, NC to the late Levi A. Knight and Emma Priddy Knight. She was a graduate of Leaksville High School and was retired from Fieldcrest Mills with over 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Draper for 75 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James D. (J.D.) Young; sister, Hester Knight Smith Stanford; and brothers, G. Tyrus Knight, Taylor H. Knight, and Ernest A. Knight.

She is survived by daughters Elizabeth (Beth) Wilkins of Durham, NC, Joyce Fuqua (Jim) of Melbourne, FL; five grandchildren, Michael Fuqua (Kristi) of Atlanta, GA, Mark Fuqua (Jennifer) of Lewisville, NC, Tracy Hatcher (Reggie) of Lexington, NC, Richard Wilkins (Stacy) of Orlando, FL and Candace Inscoe (Slade), of Cary NC; eleven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

All family and friends of Ora will forever remember her loving smile and the kind words she expressed for every person she met. Her gift to each of them was her unconditional love, humility, and kindness.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1pm-2pm) at First Baptist Church of Draper and other times at the residence.

The family wishes to extend appreciation and a very special thank you to the staff of both Morehead Hospital and Hospice of Rockingham County for their attentive care of Mrs. Young.
