Barbara Ellen Land, age 86 formerly of Bryant Street, Eden, passed away on Friday September 16, 2016 at Brian Center Health and Rehab.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 24th at 12 noon at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with visitation to be held one hour prior to the service from 11 till 12.  Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Barbara was born January 8, 1930 in Spray ( Eden ) NC to the late Jesse and Jeanie Ferguson Land.  She was a member of the former First Christian Church Disciples of Christ where she was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship and Ladies Aid.  She was a retired Legal Secretary for Attorney Jimmy Walker and also Attorney Emily Parker. 

Barbara was preceded in death along with her parents by sisters, Dorothy and Zellie Land; brothers, Paul, Curtis and Duward Land; nephew, Paul Leslie Land (Charlotte) and niece, Emma Land Davis ( William).

Surviving are nieces, June Land Gatewood ( J.T.) and Anna Land Gilley ( Lanney); great nephews, Duward and Rodney Gatewood, Michael Land, William E. Davis IV and Justin Gilley; great nieces, Connie Koontz, Rebecca Ann Davis and Lanna Craig; and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.
