Jerry Wayne Ratliff, 69, of 501 Ward Road in Eden, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, September 17, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in Overlook Cemetery.

Jerry was born July 13, 1947 in Rockingham County, NC, to the late John Alec Ratliff, Jr. and Lillie Hundley Ratliff.  He was a retiree of Duke Power Company.  Jerry loved his dogs, Woody, Roscoe and Ivie and his horse Cody.  Jerry enjoyed visits from his friends.  He loved living life to the fullest especially being outside and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Smith Ratliff of Eden;  daughter, Tatia Patterson (Robbie) of Eden;  three grandchildren, Wesley Patterson, Macy Patterson, and Alec Branch;  four sisters, Gloria Hall (Jimmy) and Dawn Solomon (Larry), both of Eden, Kathy Hayes of Thomasville, and Tammy Pruitt ( Mark) of Ruffin;  brother, Gary Ratliff of Pelham;  and many nieces and nephews with whom he had a special relationship.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Shana Ratliff and step-father, J. B. Roberts.

The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
