Kathleen Ray Meeks, age 95 formerly of Hidden Valley Estates, Eden, NC passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Brookdale Senior Living in Salisbury, NC.

A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Tuesday, July 26th at North Spray Christian Church in Eden with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 12 till 1 pm.

Mrs. Meeks was born February 6, 1921 in Draper ( Eden), NC to the late James Lee and Clara Callicut Ray.  She was retired from Fieldcrest Cannon and a member of North Spray Christian Church where she was a member of the choir, served on numerous committees, was President of her sunday school class.  She loved to travel, was an avid reader and loved to crochet. 

Preceding her in death along with her parents was her husband Thomas Edward Meeks and a son Ronnie Meeks; brothers, J.L. Ray and Bobby Gene Ray; sisters, Audrey Chism.

Surviving are daughter, Donna Meeks Smith and husband Melvin of Salisbury, NC; sister, Jo Anne Harris of Reidsville; grandchildren, Emily Smith Mueller and husband Steve of Lexington, NC, Amy Smith Hrutkay and husband Shaun of Washington, PA, Kimberly Meeks Douglas, Donald Meeks and wife Tammy, and Kenny Meeks all of Topeka, KS; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Martin, Milena Hrutkay, Thomas, Brandon,Connor, Keaton and Taylor Meeks, Victoria and Ashley Douglas; numerous nieces and nephews.
