Jacqueline "Jackie" Danaho Murphy, 85, of 892 Cobbs Knob Road in Axton, VA, passed away Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, July 9, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Reidsville. Reverend Haywood Alcorn will be officiating.

A Rockingham County native, Jackie was born December 16, 1930 to the late William John Danaho and Mabel Alcorn Danaho. She was a member of Willis Memorial Baptist Church and a faithful and very accomplished piano player. Jackie was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Murphy of the home; son, William "Bud" Murphy of Eden; grandson, Kelly Russell Murphy of Eden; and her beloved cat, Charlie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" Russell Murphy.

The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 12:30 PM to 2 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
