Samuel "Sammy" Clinton Joyce, 70, of 121 Homestead Drive in Stoneville, passed away Tuesday morning, July 5, 2016, at his home.

 

A funeral service will be held at a 11 AM on Friday, July 8, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.  The Rockingham County Veteran's Honor Guard will perform military rites at the graveside.

 

Sammy was born February 27, 1946 in Rockingham County, to the late Henry Clinton Joyce and Lena Shelton Joyce.  He was a graduate of Morehead High School, Class of 1964 and was a US Air Force veteran.  Sammy was retired from Tyco, Inc.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Lynn Joyce (Fiance', Frank Adkins) of the home;  sons, Samuel Jessie Joyce (Heather Michelle) and Matthew "Kyle" Joyce (girlfriend, Crystal), both of Asheboro;  three grandchildren, Cayden Joyce, Connor Adkins, and Logan Johnson;  two step-grandchildren, Linley Johnson and Charity Hammond;  and seven sisters, Marie J. Brooks of Eden, Frieda J. Scott of Richmond, VA, Doris J. Moorefield of High Point, Rivers J. Newman (Arnold) of Eden, Peggy J. Kendrick of Stoneville, Faye J. Stewart of Eden, and Judy Joyce of Reidsville.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

I am so sorry about the passing of Sammy! I know all of you will miss him! Your 1and only brother !! Haven just got a little sweeter! But that missing hold in your life will never be the same! I am so sorry to hear about Sammy. He was an amazing neighbor and would always wave when he was outside. He came and checked on my husband when he had health problems and was out of work from Tyco. He was such a nice man. Praying for your family.
