Herman Luther Johnson of Baltimore, MD died on June 5, 2016 at the age of 83 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, MD.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Roselawn Memorial Gardens with military graveside rites performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Honor Guard.  The family will leave in a processional to Roselawn Memorial Gardens at 10:30 am from Fair Funeral Home.

Mr. Johnson was born in Baltimore, MD to Herman L. and Lillian A. (Jackson) Johnson, he was a 20 year retired veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served our country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the American Legion, an avid Oriole, Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Colts fan, an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing and bowling.
Herman is survived by his sons, Carl L. Johnson (Deborah) of MD and James L. Johnson (Anna) of NC; grandchildren, Danielle Hill, Rose Wheaton, April Johnson, Luke Johnson and Zachary Johnson; and great grandchildren, Audrey Coale, Nuriah Wheaton, Maple Teague, Abigail Wheaton.  

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Lucy Mae Johnson, brother, Richard Johnson and sisters, Elsie McCall and Helen King. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Herman’s honor to The American Diabetes Association; 2418 Blue Ridge Rd, Raleigh, NC 27607

James and Anna, Paul and I were so sorry to hear of Mr. Johnson passing. He was such a great person, it was such a pleasure to be in insurance office when he would come by. Please know that Mr. Johnson will be missed by his family and friends. Love & Prayers
