Joan Kerr Cassell, age 83 of 311 Johnsie Billie Harris Street, Eden, passed away on Sunday evening May 29, 2016 at her home.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Critz, Virginia.
Joan was born March 1, 1933 in Mooresville, NC to the late William and Polly Gregory Kerr. She was a member of Cascade Primitive Baptist Church and retired from E.C. Manufacturing in Pineville, NC.
She was preceded along with her parents by her husband, Amos Cassell.
Surviving are daughters, Lisa Fisher (Johnny) and Tonya Mason all of Eden; son, Bill Connell (Rita) of Matthews, NC; grandchildren, Chad (Angela) Connell, Kaitlyn Connell and Matt Fisher; great grandchildren, Jordon and Brody Connell.
The family would like to thank Dr. Terry Daniels and his staff and also, Felicia Brown and Linda Walker of Home Health Care.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 til 2 pm at the funeral home and other times at the home.
