Virginia Washburn Tucker, age 93 of 301 Lloyd Street, Eden passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Jacobs Creek Nursing Home.
A funeral service will be held 11 am on Tuesday May 31st at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 - 11 am.
Mrs. Tucker was born September 29, 1922 in Rockingham County to the late Henry and Mary Robertson Washburn. She was a lifelong member of Spray Baptist Church.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin F. Tucker, Jr.; a daughter, Cathy Newman and brothers, Dudley, Thomas and Russell Washburn.
She is survived by her grandsons, James Perkins and wife Judy of Eden, Chris Newman of Roxboro; sister-in-law, Emma Washburn of Eden; great grandson, Matthew Perkins and numerous nieces and nephews.
