James “Jae” David Carter, Jr., 38, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.  Jae was born on October 23, 1977 in Greensboro, NC to James “J.D.” David Carter, Sr. and the late Donna Mills Carter.    He was a 1996 graduate of John Motley Morehead High School.  Jae worked in Greensboro for Energy North Carolina.  He was a huge Raiders and Carolina Tarheel fan.  He enjoyed collecting baseball cards, playing fantasy football and collecting Jordan tennis shoes.  He loved his family very deeply but most of all he loved his children and his sister.  Along with his mother, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie and Claudine Mills and Gracie Carter.

Jae Carters party to celebrate his life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Bob Johnson officiating.  The family request come in your best black and silver to celebrate Jae’s home going Raiders Style.  Interment will follow the service in Dan View Cemetery.

Left to cherish his memory is his father, James “J.D.” David Carter, Sr. (Paula) of Ridgeway, VA; sister, Ginger Carter (Shawn) of Greensboro, NC; daughters, Macy and Kinley Carter; aunts, Cathy Grogan (Herman) and Glenda Lipford all of Eden; uncle, Jr. Carter (Leisa) of Sandy Ridge, NC and numerous cousins and extended family.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 23, 2016 from 6-8 PM at fair funeral home and other times at the home of J.D. Carter, 1806 Kings Mill Rd. Ridgeway, VA.

At the family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Jae’s honor to American Foundation For Suicide Prevention;  www.afsp.org
