Everett Mason Thacker, 87, formerly of Ridgeway, VA, passed away Friday morning, February 19, 2016 at Piney Forest Health and Rehab Center.  
 
A graveside service will be held at 4 PM on Sunday, February 21, at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway.  Rockingham County VFW Honor Guard will perform military rites.  The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Theresa at 1086 Old Leaksville Road, Ridgeway.
 
Mr. Thacker was born January 23, 1929 in Henry County, VA, to the late Dorsey Thacker and Nora O'Dell Thacker.  
 
He is survived by his daughter, Theresa Chaney of Ridgeway;  three grandsons, Kevin Craddock and Keith Craddock of Ridgeway and Kenneth Craddock of Eden;  three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Colton and Luke Craddock of Eden;  and two sisters, Elaine Midkiff and Josephine Heffinger, both of Ridgeway.
 
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Catherine Aheron Thacker.
