Carolyn Claybrook Cook, 73, of 100 Larry Street in Stoneville, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at her home.
 
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 21, at Hodgin Memorial United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow in Stoneville City Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday, (1 - 2 pm) at the church.
 
Carolyn was born February 19, 1942 in Rockingham County, NC.  She was a graduate of Stoneville High School, Class of 1960 and of King's Business College.  Carolyn was a member of Hodgin Memorial United Methodist Church.  She was a former bookkeeper for Claybrook Tire Company.
 
She is survived by her husband, John Ray Cook, of the home;  two children, Amy Cook Penn and husband, Kevin, and John Ray Cook, Jr. and wife, Pamela;  five grandchildren, Latisha Cook, Aaron Moore, Kevin Penn, Jr., Jordan Cook, and Chasity Patterson;  four great-grandchildren;  her mother, Dorothy Joyce Claybrook;  brothers, Michael Larry Claybrook and wife, Karen of Stoneville and Joseph Andrew Claybrook, Jr. and wife, Donna, both of Stoneville;  and sisters, Patricia Claybrook Lawson and husband, Joe of Bristol, VA, Gail Claybrook Collins and husband, Bob of High Point, and Barbara Claybrook Belton and husband, Hugh, of Stoneville.
 
She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Andrew Claybrook and a great-grandson, Zachariah McGuire.
 
The family would like to offer special thanks to the staff of Hospice of Rockingham County for all their care and support.
 
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Hodgin Memorial United Methodist Church, PO Box 62, Stoneville, NC  27048.
