Thelma Shropshire Sharpe, 97, formerly of NC 87 in Eden, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday evening, January 17, 2016, at Brian Center.

Mrs. Sharpe was born September 12, 1918 in Rockingham County, NC to the late Frank and Cora Harris Shropshire.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Thelma worked at the bedspread mill in Eden and later retired from J. C Penney Company in Martinsville, VA.  She made lap blankets and gave them to nursing homes and Hospice.  Thelma was a great prayer warrior.

She is survived by her brother, Harold Shropshire and wife, Margie "Sis", of Edmonds, OK;  numerous nieces and nephews;  and three very special friends, Dewey Snody (her "boyfriend"), Penny Snody, and Kathy Yeatts, who will miss her greatly.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 20 years, Jofree "Pete" Houston Sharpe; sister, Blanche Hopper; and brother,  John Shropshire; step-father, Howard "Pappy" Brannock whom she dearly loved; step-mother, Bertha; and step-brothers, Willie, Joe, and Bobby Brannock.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Brian Center of Eden for everything they did for her while she was there.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 in memory of Cora Brannock and Cindy Brannock.

So sorry to heard of Charles passing. He was such a sweet man, my earliest memory of him was a visit to my parents Paul and Gracie Shropshire. as a seven year old all I can remember is the Navy uniform. He was part of a wonderful family. My family will keep you in our prayers.
