Elaine Radford Burchett, age 86 of 503 Long Street, Eden passed away on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at her home.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm Tuesday at First Church of The Brethren with burial to follow at Dan View Cemetery.

Mrs. Burchett was born September 27, 1929 to the late Eldridge Radford and Lucy Stallings Radford. She worked for Dan River Mills and later retired from Fieldcrest Mills. She was a member of First Church of the Brethren where she had taught Sunday School. Mrs. Burchett was a volunteer at Morehead Hospital with over 7,000 hours of dedicated service.

She was preceded in death along with her parents by sister, Barbara Cox; brother, Wilford Radford; daughter, Linda Sparks and son Randy Johnson.

Surviving are husband, John Burchett; daughter, Jean Craven and husband Jacob of Eden; son, Allen Burchett and wife Kim of Efland, NC; sister, Sibyl Beaver and husband, Junius of Madison; brother, Grady Radford and wife, Zenella of Catharpin, VA; grandchildren, Diane Burgess of Martinsville, VA, Mandy Silvers and husband, Allen and Tracy Craven all Eden, Olyvia Taflan and husband Matt of Gastonia,NC, Hillary Griffin and husband Kyle, Meredith Craven and husband Trey all of Burlington; great grandchildren, Ryan Burgess, Avery Hazzard, Zane Hazzard, Trey Silvers, Gabriel Belcher, Matthew, Abygail and Michael Taflan; sister-in-law, Peggy Radford.

The Family will receive friends Monday evening 6-8 pm at First Church of the Brethren and other times at the home.
