David William Duckworth, US Army Retired, age 72 of 635 Joseph Martin Hwy, Martinsville, Va. passed away on December 25, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/ Henry County.
A private memorial service will be held at Danville National Cemetery at a later date.
Mr. Duckworth was born June 28, 1943 in Johnson County, TN. He was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and retired from the U.S. Army with 20 years of service. He served in the Vietnam War.
Surviving are wife, Jan Christian Duckworth of the home; sons, Danny Duckworth and Ricky Duckworth, both of Burlington; and two grandchildren, Alexa Dotson and Nichole Duckworth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dillard and Myra Watts Duckworth; son, David Duckworth, Jr.; step-son, Daven M. Gibbs; and brothers, Bobby and Charles Duckworth.

I was also Jan's biological daughter, but she declined to mention me. In addition she mispelled my dear sweet brother's name. (His name was Daven, not "Davin". RIP Dave! You treated my daughter Alexa well pand for that I thank you.
