Carl William Kirks, Sr., 91, passed away Monday evening, December 7, 2015, at Morehead Nursing Center in Eden.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, December 10, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Kirks was born September 25, 1924 in Rockingham County, NC to the late William Henry Kirks and Martha Frasier Kirks. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Draper and a retiree of Murphy & Mabe's Plumbing Company.
He is survived by his four children, Brenda Kirks Nolen and husband,Kenneth of Central, SC, Carl William Kirks, Jr and wife, Hope of Eden, Wesley Paul Kirks and wife, Dianne of McLeansville, and Martha Kirks Hankins and boyfriend, Jamey of Eden; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, J. E. Kirks of Ridgeway, VA; and sister, Muriel Kirks Calhoun and husband, Tom of Winston-Salem.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Law Kirks; brothers, Richard, Ralph, and Wallace Kirks; and sister, Barbara Scearce.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (10 - 11 AM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at 1420 Maryland Avenue in Eden.

Carl's Heavenly Father and his earthly Father and Mother are very proud of Carl's journey "Home"!! I can't even imagine what a wonderful celebration Carl is having with his family and friends.....and with Jesus and his Father. One day we will have a heavenly celebration, too!!! May God continue to bless all of you during your time of loss, and during your time of reflection and celebration, You all should be so very proud of your Dad, as Jesus is so very proud of Carl, too.
