Mary Elizabeth Land Smith Massey, age 89 formerly of Garrett Road, Eden passed away on Sunday morning December 6, 2015 at Morehead Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Thursday December 10, 2015 at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Overlook Cemetery. The family will meet with friends one hour prior to the service from 1 till 2 pm.
Mrs. Massey was born May 25, 1926 in the Spray section of Eden to the late Arthur and Lottie Austin Land. She was retired from Roses Department Store.
Mary was a member of First Wesleyan Church, she loved to crochet and playing Bingo. Her favorite past time was baby sitting.
She was preceded by her parents and two husband's, Walter Smith and Paul Massey; sister, Ruth Land Meeks and brother, Howard Land.
Surviving are daughters, Priscilla Pulliam of Eden and Teresa Bryant and husband Wayne of Ruffin;grandson's, Brian Pulliam of Greensboro and Lenny Griffith and wife Amy of Memphis, Tn.; niece, Sheri Murphy and husband Mike; nephew, Philip Meeks; great nephew, Ryan Murphy and wife Tiffany all of Eden.
