Jan Ferguson, 65, of Harrington Highway in Eden, passed away Wednesday afternoon, November 11, 2015, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, November 15, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lewis Brandon officiating. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery.

Mr. Ferguson was born July 10, 1950 in Leaksville, NC to the late Ray and Lorene Coone Ferguson. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church and a retiree of Lorillard after 22 years of service.

Jan is survived by his wife, Kathy Mangrum Ferguson of the home; daughter, Leigh Anna Smithey and husband, Will; son, Benjamin Ferguson and wife, Hava; two step-daughters, Misty Hyler and Brandi Singer; six grandchildren, April Pulliam, Josh Pulliam, Blake Ferguson, Cody Ferguson, Savannah Ferguson, and Ashleigh Smithey; three step-grandchildren, Kelsey Graves, Benjamin Hyler, and Kai Graves Singer; and brother, Dana Ferguson and wife, Mary.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kim Ferguson.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the residence.

So sad to just find out about Jan's passing. We played together as kids in Carolina Heights, went to school together at: Lakeside, LSJH, Morehead, and Rockingham Comm. College.Really fun times and hijinks together. Jan's Mom and Dad were great folks. Kim was a fine fellow. Dana was/is a great guy also. My thoughts and prayers go out to Jan's family and friends.
