Charlie Richard Manuel, Sr. age 81 of 2938 Cox Road, Ridgeway, Virginia, passed away at his home on Tuesday evening October 6, 2015.

A funeral service will be held 2 pm on Thursday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway with full Military Honors.

Mr. Manuel was born June 15, 1934 in Stokes County to the late Lofton and Minnie Priddy Manuel. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. Charlie was a retired Truck Driver in 2002, from Warren Trucking and previously with Roy Stone Transfer. He was a member of Teamsters Local 22 and AMVETS.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by an infant daughter, Teressa Ann Manuel; brothers, Lofton Junior Manuel and Bobby Cephus Manuel; sisters, Francis Manuel Lee and Margie Manuel Williams; grandson, Daniel Lee Rogers.

Surviving are wife, Loretta Ann Price Manuel of the home; son, Charlie R. Manuel, Jr. and wife Sharon of Ridgeway; daughters, Phoebe Manuel Plasters and husband Carl of Ridgeway, Robyn Manuel Rogers and husband Keith of Fayetteville, NC.; grandchildren, Kayla T. Manuel, Kelly R. Haley, Maegen E. Rogers, Taylor C. Rogers and Farrah D. Haley.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home from 1til 2 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.

Memorial contributions may be offered to Mountain Valley Hospice, 18981 Jeb Stuart Hwy, Stuart, VA 24171.

Charlie was a great guy who enjoyed life , He will be missed by many people, He was also a great card player , will never forget hearing him say I ain't got to have Aces in the hole to play, LOL .... Loretta and Family my thoughts and Prayers are with you all, May God be with you all in your time of need....Glad to have known Charlie for many years....

I am so sorry to hear about Charlie. He and my father Dell Hundley were very good friends. I had the opportunity to meet him a few times while hanging out with my dad, and like my dad, he seemed like a very good guy.
