i Mr. Bethel, this year, as a Meals On Wheels Volunteer. It was Love at first sight. Whenever I would knock on the door, and, he was not coming to answer the door. "I would say, Meals On Wheels!!!", he would finally come to the door, and apologize and say, he was in the back. I would tell him, that's ok. When day, for whatever reason, I asked him if he was a Veteran, he said, yes I am, WORLD WAR II, I said, my Father was a Retired Navy Man, I told him that he was in Pearl Harbor, and he retired during the Vietnam War, he did not want to fight in another war, so, he retired with 27 years!! He was very pleasant, another time I went to deliver his lunch, and he had bumble bees, and I told him I was afraid, he said, "oh, they ain't gona hurt ya"!!!! I laughed, and said, yes they will!! The very next time, I brought his food, he was sitting in the porch, and said, I was waiting for you, and he had the biggest smile on his face!! He said, I sprayed for you, and he was just grinning!!! Mr. Bethel, really cared about me, because he got rid of the bumble bees!! THIS IS WHAT I CALL TRUE LOOOOVE!! AND I FELT THE SAME WAY!! I LOOOVE MY MILITARY, AND HE WAS ONE!! I WILL TRULY MISSSSSSS HIM!! REST IN PEACE MR. BETHEL!!!!!! I SALUTE YOU!!!! LOOOOVE YOU!! LOOOOVE ME!!

Katina Thomasson and the entire family, it was with great sadness that I learned of Beck's passing. Please accept our heartfelt condolences and I hope that in a small way they help you through these trying times. He was always such a nice man that always had a wave or smile. I remember him coming out of his house to say hello and talk to my Mom when we would visit with Sheila Hodgson Wilson across the street (neighbor). I am sure he will be missed from his neighborhood of friends and family.
