Delano H. Hundley, 81, of 159 Marrowbone Circle in Ridgeway, VA, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 29, 2015 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville and Henry County.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, August 1 at Christian Worship Assembly on Highway 14 in Eden. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Ridgeway, VA.

Mr. Hundley was born August 18, 1933 in Ridgeway, VA to the late William Wesley Hundley and Mary Katherine "Kate" Cox Hundley. He was a member of Christian Worship Assembly and a US Army veteran. Mr. Hundley previously worked for Ridgeway Clock Company and later Fieldcrest Mills, where he retired. He was a truck driver for 53 years.

He is survived by his son, William Wesley Hundley and wife, Cynthia of Ridgeway, VA and Delano H. Hundley, Jr. and wife, Tammy of Sandy Ridge; three daughters, Chief Johanna D. Lee, US Navy and husband, Kelvin of Suffolk, VA, Cheryl H. Chilton of Thomasville, and Robin H. McCranie and husband, Tim of Axton, VA; and his loving companion, Baxter, of the home; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a niece, Vickie Widener and husband, Tony.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Spencer Hundley and his brother, William L. "Billy" Hundley

The family will receive friends Friday evening, 6 - 8 PM at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of William and Cynthia Hundley, 36 Kilarney Ct. in Ridgeway.

we were so sorry to hear of dale's passing. we were out of town and when we got back on sat. night we just heard today. he was a very special person and he and david worked together driving those trucks. we thought so much of him and wanda and cherish all the memories of them. the picture is exactly like him always with a smile and a laugh.
