Ernest Calvin O'Dell, age 91 of 161 Circle Loop, Eden, passed away early Saturday morning May 30, 2015 at Kindred Hospital in Greensboro.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Monday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
Ernest was born November 6, 1923 in Danville, VA. to the late Jesse James "J.J." O'Dell and Lula Williams O'Dell. He was of the Baptist Faith and retired from Fieldcrest Mills with 39 Years of service.
Mr. O'Dell was preceded in death along with his parents, by his wife, Clarice Lemons O'Dell , sister, Lucy O. Stone and brother, Roy J. O'Dell, Sr.
Surviving are daughter, Sharon Diane Hayden and husband Robert of Ruffin; sister, Frances Alcorn and husband Bill of Eden; brothers, Charles T. O'Dell of Forrest City, NC and Joseph "Joe" M. O'Dell of Martinsville, VA.
The family will receive friends on Sunday evening at Fair Funeral Home from 6-8 pm. and other times at the home of his sister, Frances Alcorn, 173 Circle Loop, Eden.
A very special thanks to Dr. David Tapper and staff of Eden Family Practice and also to Dr. James Parsons and the third floor staff of Morehead Memorial Hospital.
