Melissa Dawn Overby, 42, of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Monday, April 13, at Danview Cemetery.
She was born in Floyd County, GA on January 2, 1973 and was the daughter of Ronnie Overby and the late Delores Tate Overby. Melissa was employed by Lowes as a cashier.
She is survived by her father and step-mother, Ronnie and Mea Overby of Eden; her sister, Paula and Mike McAdams of Gibsonville; her grandmother, Pauline S. Overby of Cartersville, GA; her aunts and uncles, Booker and Jean Overby, Anita and Roy Newberry, Pam and Terry Elrod and Phyllis and Danny McElrath,and William & Lynn Tate; along with numerous cousins.
Preceding her in death is her mother Delores Walker; her grandfather, Wick Overby; and her grandmother, Edna Tate Hendrick.
The family will receive friends prior to the service on Monday (12 Noon to 1:45 PM) at Fair Funeral Home before proceeding to the cemetery for the graveside service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Eden Shelter, the Eden Rescue Squad, or Immanuel Broadcasting Network in Cartersville, GA.

I am sorry for your loss.. I don't know you personally but I want to express my sincere condolences.. The bible provides a solid hope for the future that die in Gods memory. John 5:28,29 tells us that the dead will hear the voice of Jesus & come out & they will return to a world where death, sickness, sorrow, and pain will be no more. These promises we can trust because the God of all comfort made these promises & he cannot lie. I hope you & your family will find this scriptures comforting.
