My dear Dru Ann, be at rest. How precious you are in my memory. You were the first Special Assistant Leader in Girl Scouting in North Carolina. Your enthusiasm and smiles gave courage to many youngsters and leaders. We began in the schools and made special badges for ability levels and you were our pattern. Your family may remember me as "Peanut". Love and prayers for them.

I remember the days Dru Ann would sit on the porch with my Mother and Grandmother (Paula and Hattie Burcham). She would make cards for them and they would display them. They loved her and she loved them. So sorry for the loss to her family and friends.

Gary, Pat and Mike, My heartfelt sympathy goes out to all of you. Dru Ann was like a family member when I was growing up. She was Jody's self appointed protector and she kept the rest of us in line. She would get so excited when I would bring Emily and Eric over when they were babies. She and Goldie would fuss over who was going to hold them. Later she would come out and watch them play at the Boy's & Girl's Club too. I credit Jody and Dru Ann for my career choice of working with special needs children, but I never really thought of them as different. My family was very blessed to have Dru Ann in our lives. My heart is sad at the passing of Dru Ann but I know she and Ruth Penn are in heaven having a grand time. I met Dru Ann through Betty Penn and had the pleasure of working with her at Saturday Church. Deepest sympathies to her family.

Dru Ann was like a member of our family. I have so many special memories of her, I do not think she ever forgot a birthday or Christmas. She was always smiling and happy. I pray that Gods comfort will be with you in the days ahead.
