Kenneth "Kenny" Elmer Dodson, 69, of 5131 Mitchell Road in Ridgeway, passed away early Friday morning, January 30, 2015, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, February 1, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. View Cemetery in Ridgeway, VA.

Mr. Dodson was born November 19, 1945 in Norfolk, VA, to the late Woodie and Daisy Hylton Dodson. He was a graduate of Morehead High School, Class of 1964 then spent six years in the Virginia National Guard. Kenny was a member of First Church of the Brethren, an avid fisherman, a good golfer and a member of Lynrock Golf Course. He loved spending time with his grandson, Jordan. Kenny retired from E. I. Dupont following 30 years of service.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Wilson Dodson of the home; son, Todd Dodson of Ridgeway, VA; daughter, Kim Thompson and husband, Eric, of Stoneville; grandson, Jordan Thompson; brother, Ronnie Dodson and wife, Pat; and sister, Peggy Nesbit and husband, Robert.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Carol Jones.

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the 2555 NC Hwy 135 in Stoneville.
