Jessie Chester Wray ?¢‚Ǩ?ìJ.C?¢‚Ǩ¬ù, 86, of 5071 Hwy 700, Eden, NC ,departed this world for heaven on January 29, 2015 at his home, "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints." Psalms 116:15.,
A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 noon at Fair Funeral Home Chapel in Eden with Mark Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Dan View Cemetery with Military Honors performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.
J.C. was born December 6, 1928, in Draper section of Eden to Cora Shrophire Wray and John Booze Wray. He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. J.C. has been a long term resident of Eden, NC where he worked for Pet Milk Company, Law?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s Hardware, Solite Corporation, and retired from Fieldcrest Industries. His passions included God, his family, and gardening. J.C. was a strong, kind man who never met a stranger and attended the First Baptist Church of Draper. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers John, Cleve, and Monroe. He will be missed by all, especially his wife of 63 years, Betsy Saunders Wray, and their daughters, Cindy Bousman of Kernersville, Teresa Sholy (Joseph) of Oakridge, and Rose Corbett (Dale) of Greensboro. Additionally, left to cherish his memory are three loving grandchildren, Jonathan and Andrew Bousman, and Brittany Burton as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 11 am, one hour prior to the service and other times at the home.
