Ruth Hall Rodgers, 86, a resident of Waynesboro, VA, died Sunday January 25, 2015 at Augusta Health.
A daughter of the late William L. Hall and Emma Denny Hall, she was born June 12, 1928 in Stuart, VA.
She was a dedicated volunteer in many capacities with Main Street United Methodist Church, and the local Clothes Closet.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Samuel D. Rodgers, Jr.; son, William D. Rodgers and his wife Carol of Petersburg, TN; daughter, Edna R. Black and her husband Richard of Roanoke, VA; 4 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, January 30, 2015 in Dan View Cemetery, Eden, NC.
The family will receive friends prior to the service at Fair Funeral Home from 1 - 1:45PM before proceeding to the cemetery for the service.
A memorial service will be held in Waynesboro at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the following people who showed such loving care toward Mrs. Rodgers: Kalise, Kriste, Kay, Nichole, Paula, Robin, and Suellen.
To Family I express my sincere sympathy to you. Ruth was a kind, caring and considerate lady. She was always kind and considerate to me. I know FAMILY was important to her and she lived her faith daily in her actions. May God BLESS all of you in the days ahead. Charles
