Mabel Oakley Rhodes of 1710 Snead Road, Stoneville, North Carolina passed away Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Morehead Nursing Center.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Fair Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, January 26, 2015 with burial to follow at Roberts-Snead Family Cemetery.

Mrs. Rhodes was born July 9, 1917, in Rockingham County to the late Thomas Cleveland Oakley and Edna Roberts Oakley. She was retired from Blue Bell, Inc. She was a member of Matrimony Primitive Baptist Church where she served as church clerk for 57 years. She was married to the late James "Sanford" Rhodes on December 21, 1935.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda "Louise" Rhodes of the home; son-in-law Jimmie Kallam; grandchildren: Leesa Baker and husband Mike; Bonya Tredway and husband Andy; Tania Martin and husband Jimmy; Wendy Roberts and husband Norris; Mark Kallam and wife Gwynne. Great-grandchildren Jacob Baker, Jessica Baker James and husband Mason, Skylar Roberts, Richard and Houston Kallam, and James Martin. Sisters Mildred Leake and Aileen Draper.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James "Sanford" Rhodes and her daughter Barbara Rhodes Kallam, brothers Henry and Elmo Oakley, sisters Mary Rhodes, Esther Durham, Ruby Nelson and Louise Oakley.

. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jimmie Kallam, 1672 Snead Road, Stoneville,NC 27048.
