Elaine Eiselstein Turner, 86, of 1126 Trogdon Drive passed away early Friday morning, January 23, 2015, at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, January 25, at Fair Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Overlook Cemetery.

Mrs. Turner was born October 26, 1928 in Orlando, Florida, to the late Dana P. and Louise Moody Eiselstein. She was a graduate of Florida State University with a degree in education. After marrying and moving to the Eden area, she taught school for several years before later working as the office manager for her husband's optometrist office until she retired. In her earlier years she was an active member of the Junior Service League of Leaksville. Elaine was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Eden.

She is survived by her son, Dr. W. Lee Turner and wife, Donna, of Eden; two grandchildren, Leslie Turner Christian and husband, Thadd, of Martinsville, VA and Brad Turner of Spartanburg, SC; one great-grandchild, Mac Christian; sister, Dorothy Branscomb of Stone Mountain, GA; extended family, Koury Gibson, Ann Compton, and Connie and Larry Boyte; and special friends, Mike and Shirley Prescott.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Dr. Roy Turner.

A special thanks is offered from the family to Dr. Kevin Howard, Dr. James Parsons, the Moses Cone Health System and to her wonderful caregivers, Pat Law, Judy Duke, Lara Rosa, and Bobby Hampton, for all of their loving care and support.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday (1 - 2 PM) at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her son, 1005 Fields Street in Eden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 582 Southwood Drive, Eden, NC 27288 or to Salvation Army, 314 Morgan Rd., Eden, NC 27288.
