Richard Elton Parrish, age 76 of 1230 Harris St., Eden passed away Saturday,
December 13, 2014 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
The funeral service will be held Monday, December 15, at 2 PM at Fair Funeral
Home Chapel with burial to follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Parrish was born September 7, 1938 to the late Lonnie Milford Parrish
and Mary "Lizzie" Barker Parrish in Reidsville, NC. He attended Dan River
Wesleyan Church for the past 12 years. After graduating from Wentworth High
School in 1956, he joined the U.S. Army and served for 6 months before
transferring to the U.S. Air Force. After four years of honorable service, he
worked as a civilian avionics technician at Robins Air Force Base, GA. He
retired in 1999.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, was his wife of 24 years; Margaret
Collett, 3 sons; Dean, Kerry and Kevin Parrish, and one grandchild Austin Eagen.
Surviving are his wife Jo Anne Corum Parrish of the home, daughters; Amanda
Luke and husband James Daniel Luke of Fitzgerald, GA, Kim Ours and husband
Jake of Cumming, GA, Jodi Eagen of Cumming, GA, Rebecca Parrish of Warner-
Robins, GA, one son; Brannen Parrish of Tulsa, OK, 11 grandchildren (Quinton Luke,
Carrie Sinclair, Jason & Alexis Ours, Dylon, Justin, & Darion Eagen, Aniyah & Jiana
Parrish, Journey Smith and Adaya Cochran)
5 great grandchildren, 2 sisters; Audrey P. Madison of Trinity, NC and Lois P. Amburn
and husband Willie of Reidsville, NC, stepdaughter; Rhonda Rhodes, 2 step
grandchildren (Colin & Evan Rhodes) and former son-in-law Jimmy Eagen.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Bobby Parham, Hector Sanchez
and the Wesley Long Hospital ICU.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1 until 2 PM at Fair
Funeral Home Chapel, and other times at the home. Memorial Contributions can
be made to the organization of the donars choice.
