Martha Dickerson Slaughter, age 63, of 1015 Georgia Ave, Eden passed away on Saturday, December 6, 2014 at the Brian Center Health and Rehab. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday December 9th, 11:00 am at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Eden.
Martha was born June 29, 1951 in Blairs, VA to the late Delma Randall and Elnora Cobbler Dickerson. She worked for over 25 years at the Eden Brian Center in the kitchen cooking and assisting with food service.
She was preceded in death along with her parents by husband, James Albert Slaughter and her son Timothy Corum.
Surviving are son, Christopher Slaughter and wife Heather of Eden, three brothers, Phillip Dickerson, Jerry Dickerson and wife Mollie and Donnie Dickerson and wife Terry all of Eden, grandchildren Corey and Cameron Slaughter and Caitlyn and Callie Wood all of Eden, special grandchildren Kylie Williams, Avery and Ayden Shelton, numerous nieces and nephews, special step daughter Synthia Stump and special mention Chris and Jessica Shelton. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all of the nursing staff at the Eden Brian Center.
Visitation will be held Monday evening 6 until 8pm at Fair Funeral Home at other times at the home of her son, 1015 Georgia Ave, Eden, NC, 27288.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to an education fund for her grandchildren through Christopher Slaughter at the address of the home.
