Kenneth Ray McCollum, age 71 passed away at his home, 209 Buchanan St. in Eden, November 21, 2014.

There will be a memorial service held Monday November 24, 10:00 am at Fair Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. McCollum was born May 10, 1943 to the late James Paul McCollum and Addie Foster McCollum in Eden, NC. He is a former member of The Lions Club. He worked for the Rockingham County Prison system as a correctional officer, and retired from Clayton Homes where he worked as a salesman. He also served his country in the United States Navy where he retired after twenty years of service.

Surviving are his wife; Esther Griffin McCollum of the home, daughters Natalie Jean Sbano and husband Joseph John of Jacksonville, FL, Kristal Ray Hollyday and husband Mark Edward of Houston, TX, stepdaughter Tracey Griffin Haley and husband Billie of Martinsville, VA, stepson Scott F. Griffin and wife Seena of New Orleans, LA, brothers John Wayne McCollum and wife Susan of Eden, Tommy Lee McCollum and wife Evalina of Wilmington, NC, sister Roxie Bray of Reidsville, NC, grandchildren William Kennith Horne, James Michael Godley, Jackson Davis Hollyday, step grandchildren Griffin Michael Haley, Nicholas Scott Haley, Harper Simone Griffin, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend George A. Harmon.

He was preceded in death along with his parents by two brothers and four sisters. The family would like to give a special thanks to hospice nurse Joyce Rhodes and Dr. McKay Crowley.

Visitation will be held Sunday evening 6 until 8pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
