Buford "Joe" Hayden, 64, of 5239 Old US 52 in Welcome, NC passed away Monday morning, November 10, 2014, at his home.
A funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday at Fair Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Lawson Cemetery.
Mr. Hayden was born May 15, 1950 in Leaksville, NC. He was retired from PPG in Lexington and was a Viet Nam Veteran serving with the US Marine Corps.
He is survived by his mother, Lois Quesinberry ; brother, Robert Hayden of Ruffin; daughters, Shelly Hayden and Kelly Dickerson both of Eden, Jamie Hayden of Myerstown, PA; sons, Joseph Hayden of Elon, Joshua Hayden of Richland, PA, Garrick Hayden of Lancaster, PA and Marc Hayden of Reidsville; nine grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father George Hayden, sister, Jean Peters, brothers, Mike Hayden and Wayne Slaughter; grandson, Jeremiah Hayden.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, 6- 8 pm at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of the daughter Kelly Hayden, 145 West Lake Road, Eden.
In lieu of flowers, the family gratefully requests that memorial donations be sent to Fair Funeral Home, PO Box 337, Eden, NC 27289, to assist with the funeral expenses.
