Loraine Bailey Ellington, 86, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 8, 2014, at Morehead Nursing Center.
A funeral service will be held at 2 PM on Friday, October 10, at First Baptist Church in Eden. Burial will follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
A native of Rockingham County, Mrs. Ellington was born January 23, 1928 to the late James M. Bailey and Vera Kimball Bailey. She was a member of First Baptist Church serving as Sunday School teacher, WMU group leader and an active member of Irene Taylor Sunday School class. Mrs. Ellington was a retiree of Fieldcrest Mills.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ogburn and husband, Tommy, of Eden; her grandson, Kevin Ogburn of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Betty Chappell of East Bend, NC; four nieces and one nephew.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Herman Ellington.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1 - 2 PM, at the church and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, 235 West Harris Place in Eden.
Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, General Fund, 533 Greenwood Street, Eden, NC 27288.

I am so sorry to hear of Loraine's passing. She was on my list to visit since moving back to town, and I am so sorry I didn't know she was sick. She was one of my dearest friends and I will miss not seeing her.
