Barbara Dodson Davenport, 67, of Eden, passed away Monday afternoon, September 29, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 4, at El Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Reverend Randy Green officiating.
A native of Leaksville, NC, Mrs. Davenport was born May 2, 1947 to the late Robert Glenn Dodson and Ann Vernon Dodson. Barbara was of the Episcopalian faith and a member of the Church of the Epiphany. She was the former owner of Main Street Crafters Mall. Barbara loved living life to the fullest but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Ron Davenport, of the home; daughter, Meagan Davenport Bradford and husband, Josh, of Stoneville; son, Donnie Farris; grandchildren, Nick Farris, Cole Price, and Kailey Price; sister, Glenda Futch of Goldsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Bonnie Tuttle.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, 7 - 9 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375.

I am sorry to hear about Barbara's death. She and I went to school together from the first grade through graduation from Morehead. She was a fine woman who will be missed greatly missed. Our prayers are with each member of the family. First there is a prayer of thanksgiving for Barbara's life. Then there is a prayer for God's comfort and peace to be a reality for each of you. May your faith sustain you during this difficult time in your life.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Barbara. I have known Barbara for a long time and she was a good friend. We all use to have a good time growing up back in our school days.
