Christine Wilson Cox Jones age 79 of 669 Valley Drive, Eden passed away Sunday morning June 22, 2014 at Hospice Home of Rockingham County.
A graveside service will be held 11 am Tuesday at Ridgeview Memorial Gardens.
She was born September 21, 1934 in Rockingham County to the late Harold and Ruby Mangrum Wilson. She was a member of the Leaksville Moravian Church. She was a honor graduate of Brosville High School and a graduate of the business program at Averett University. She worked for Fieldcrest Mills in the Human Resources / Retirement Benefits area and retired in 1999 with over 40 years of service. Throughout her retirement years , she enjoyed extensive traveling, reading, sewing, playing golf and participating in painting, piano, and dulcimer classes. She delighted in the many interesting people she met and cherished the friendships she made along the way. She especially loved oil and watercolor painting and received numerous awards for her artwork.
She was preceded in death along with her parents; by her sister, Mary Frances Wilson and her husband of 40 years Arthur Maynard Cox.
Christine is survived by her husband, Alfis L. Jones; daughters, Maynie Cox and friend Johnny Johnston, Kristi Cox Agee and husband Gary and her much beloved granddogs, Abbi, Buddy, Bo and Hobo.
Family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. on Monday evening at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of her daughter, Kristi Agee, 200 W. Harris Place, Eden.
Maynie and Kristi would especially like to express their deepest appreciation to all their family and friends for their thoughts and prayers during their mother's illness. The family would also like to thank the staff of the Hospice Home for taking such good care of her as well.
