Mamie Helen Link Dickson, 91, formerly of East Stadium Drive in Eden, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 19, 2014, at Morehead Nursing Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, June 22, at Danview Cemetery.

Mrs. Dickson was born February 18, 1923 in Lexington, NC, the daughter of the late Eugene and Connie Mayes Link. She was a former employee of Fieldcrest Mills, the past Music Director of First United Methodist Church of Eden; organist, for many years, at Fair Funeral Home and was the piano player for The Fieldcresters Quartet.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Jimmie Dickson Hartis of Charlotte; nieces, Jean Chilton Journigan of Eden, Pattie Walters of Salisbury, Midgie Bost and husband, Larry of Salisbury, and Betty Link of Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews; her special friend, Doris Jarrett; and many members of the family of her late husbands, whom she considered her own.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Zeb Dickson; her sister, Cora Link Chilton and her husband, James; and brother, Bill Link.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Terry Daniel and his staff, as well as her caregivers at Morehead Nursing Center, for taking such good care of Mamie.

Visitation will be held Saturday evening, 6 - 8 PM, at Fair Funeral Home and other times at the home of Jean Journigan, 1126 E. Stadium Drive in Eden.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Methodist Church, c/o Maintenance Fund, 130 North Main Street, Eden, NC 27288 or to Girl Scout, Troop #02171, 652 Overby Street, Eden, NC 27288

I offer my condolences to the family of Mamie, especially to Jean Journigan who cared for her for many years. She was such an asset to FYMC and especially to our choir. Everything I learned about music I owe to Mamie. My prayers and thoughts are with the family.
